You refer to 6th grade girls with that term, and I'm supposed to "lighten up"? Like I said, a bigger man would apologize. Keep rationalizing your behavior to yourself. I'm done with you.

Excellent work by this author. The quotes from the Missouri players are spot on for what college basketball has devolved to.

I talked to the coach who got the explanation straight from the ref.

Now it's hard for you to know what happened? Gee, thanks for letting me know! Before you were sure there was more to the story.

Because it's a lot easier than yelling "player A didn't go straight up and instead made illegal contact with player B who had position!".

I think I will later when I get time, actually. Not that it would change what's being discussed here.

Some fans are clueless, others are not. Most of the ones here follow enough basketball to be well informed, which is who I was specifically speaking about. Like I said, though, keep proving how arrogant you are by calling all fans "clueless". Also, keep ignoring the fact that most of the contested calls at basketball games involve well known rules. You could watch a season full of Bears basketball and never encounter some of the items in your quiz, and you can be knowledgeable about whether or not a call should be a charge or a block without knowing whether or not "wristbands above the elbow" are legal.

Camps or clinics? You must not have played and followed basketball enough growing up. I guess now one has to go to "camps and clinics" to know that a lead official who gets beat down the court and has to make a call from behind the play is out of position? Maybe you had to attend a clinic to learn that but, believe it or not, some of the rest of us here already knew that.

Again, anyone who disagrees with the ref (you) can't possibly be right - it has to be because they are too stupid to know what a charge even is.

A charge is when a defensive player has established position with both feet on the ground and facing the opponent, other than the zone under / immediately in front of the goal, and the offensive player creates contact and goes through him. As a matter of fact, as long as the defender has established legal guarding position, he can be moving and if the offensive player creates the contact it's still a charge.

I'll let you tell me where I'm wrong, since you're the expert.

I didn't say he's wrong alot. I said he's arrogant and likes to make the big call, which he does. See the Chargers vs. the Broncos in the 2008 NFL playoffs.

Nope, don't do any of those either. Keep trying.

I'm referring more to the fact that fans yell for a foul more often than not when there isn't a foul, but they are convinced there is simply because a player is behind another player.

    Quit making excuses.

Believe it or not, sometimes it is not possible to beat the entire play down the court, so you have to settle for the best angle you can get. It doesn't mean you were out of position, it just means you couldn't get to the place you wanted to get to.

You're mostly right, except for the bolded part in high school.

So you're telling me that the guy in the 17th row on the other end of the court has a better look at a block/charge play than the three officials on the court? Got it.

I didn't say he's wrong alot. I said he's arrogant and likes to make the big call, which he does. See the Chargers vs. the Broncos in the 2008 NFL playoffs.
He got a call wrong. What does that have to do with being arrogant and making a big call? Hochuli didn't make that call to make a show of himself....hell he probably wanted to crawl in a hole after he made it.

What are you talking about? I didn't call 6th grade girls a demeaning phrase. I said what that level of basketball generally is. Quit making things up you drama queen. 6th grade boys games are the same way for the most part.
