    11. Quantel Denson, Grandview High School


    A season ago Grandview senior forward Quantel Denson earned selection to the MOsports.com Super 50 as he helped the Bulldogs advance to Columbia finishing second in the Class 5 Show-Me Showdown.



    Denson will attend junior college.
    This season Denson returns to the Super50, moving all the way up to No. 11 in the player rankings. "He is 6-foot-8 and runs the floor like a 3-man", commented Grandview head coach Randy Farris.

    Scouts say of Denson, "He is long, has good skills, scores inside and out with range to 15-feet. He is athletic, finishes well inside, blocks shots, and gets better every time we see him".

    10. Mark Braden, Center (Kansas City) High School


    Moving up from the No. 14 spot as a junior, Center combo guard Mark Braden has done a lot of moving in the past year. After playing a leading role for the Celtics of O'Hara for his first three high school seasons, Braden completed his career at Center High School.

    The 6-foot-4 inch, 180-pound wing received rave reviews from scouts in the Kansas City area. "Braden is a good athlete, has long arms, and is a good scorer. He is a slasher, he finishes well in traffic, and is really skilled. He must improves his ability from the three-point line as he develops".

    Braden has had recruiting interest from several Missouri Valley schools including Missouri St., Wichita State, Northern Iowa, Indiana St, and Creighton however latest recruits have him going the Juco route

    9. Daylen Robinson, Northeast (Kansas City) High School


    Mark Scanlon retired following a lengthy career at Raytown High School, relocating to Northeast this season. Little did Scanlon know he would have the opportunity to coach one of the top talents in the state this season.



    Robinson received several honors for his play this season.
    No. 9 ranked Daylen Robinson performed at another level this season. They talented 6-foot-1 inch 165-pound point guard was dominant nearly every time out helping his squad to the district championship game and a 16-12 finish.

    "Daylen might be the best player in the state", commented Scanlon a Hall of Fame coach. "He's definitely the best player that I have coached." That's saying quite a bit considering one of Scanlon's top guards, Tyronn Lue has put together a lengthy stay in the N.B.A.

    Who is #8? I assume it is Scheer, because I read somewhere that a future MSU player was #8, but they didn't say who.

    8. Nathan Scheer, Borgia (Washington) High School


    In four seasons playing for the Borgia Knights guard/forward Nathan Scheer place himself among the best to ever put on the uniform. The 6-foot-5 inch, 195-pound small forward ranked No. 16 a season ago, and this season moves into the top ten in the MOsports.com Super50.

    This season Scheer helped lead the Knights to a 30-1 record, a 46-game winning streak dating back to the 2009 season, and a runner-up finish in Missouri Class 4. Scheer averaged 21.4 points per game, scoring 641 on the season, connecting on 70 three-point baskets, and pulling down 4.8 rebounds per contest.

    As a junior Scheer averaged 16 points per game, connecting on 38% of his three point attempts (41-107), averaged 5 rebounds per game for a Knight team that finished 28-3 earning the Class 4 MSHSAA basketball championship.

    Head coach Dave Neier says of his talented senior leader, "he is a tireless worker, very coachable, has great toughness, and is a great competitor."

    7. Ben McLemore, Eskridge (Wellston) High School


    In No player has seen his stock rise as high this season as Ben McLemore. Back in October when we put our Super50 list together McLemore ranked No. 9, now that it's March the talented junior from Wellston moves up to No. 7 in the Show-Me State.



    McLemore will have many Division I visits
    When the season tipped off most Missourians had no idea who McLemore was. As recently as a week ago one Division I assistant coach told me, "McLemore is the best player in the state, he is that good. He will be in the league for ten years!"

    Wellston head coach Jeff McCaw has enjoyed coaching the budding superstar and says his best attributes may not be on the hard wood. "The best thing about Ben is that he is a good person and very respectful to everyone", commented McCaw. "He is very unselfish and his willingness to work hard to accomplish his goals. He is a humble kid and he has tremendous athletic ability

    6. Frank Williams Raytown High School


    Ranked at No. 6 in the MOsports Super 50 Raytown senior Frank Williams put together a solid campaign earning all-conference and all-district honors.

    This season Williams averaged 18 points per game, he connected on 42-of-122 three point attempts leading the team from the perimeter. Williams also dished 2.1 assists per game, blocked 18 shots, and grabbed 4.4 rebounds per contest.


    With offers from Arkansas, Boston College, Central Michigan, Minnesota, Murray State, Oral Roberts, Wichita State and others Williams committed to attend Detroit University.

    5. Corey Hilliard, Raytown South (Raytown) High School


    Talented Raytown South point guard Corey Hilliard earns the No. 5 position in the Mosports.com Super50. Hilliard, a 6-foot-1 inch, 175-pound talent put together a solid junior campaign for the 21-7 Cardinals.


    An all-conference performer for the Cardinals as a sophomore and junior head coach Brad Oestreich reports that Hilliard was named to the all-tournament team in each event they participated in this year.

    "Corey can score in a variety of ways", added Oestreich. He is a powerful 6-foot-1 inch combo guard that can really get into the paint."

    4. Shaquille Boga, McCluer (St. Louis) High School

    Shaquille Boga is one of the top playmakers in the Show-Me State as a sophomore he was ranked as they No. 42 prospect in the 2009 Super50. This season he moves all the way to No. 4 in the top player rankings.



    Standing 5-foot-10 inches, Boga weighs 175-pounds and uses his outstanding quickness to keep opponents at bay.

    A crafty left handed point guard, scouts say of Boga, "he has great handles, he sees the floor well, and uses his quickness to get to the basket and set up teammates." A deft outside shooting touch, Boga can knock down the long range jump shot and has great touch with a tear drop pull-up jump shot he quickly shoots over taller defenders.

    3. Otto Porter, Scott County Central (Sikeston) High School

    Moving up to the No. 3 spot in the MOsports.com Super 50, Scott County Central junior center Otto Porter is continuing the proud Porter name and level of basketball excellence in Missouri basketball.

    This season Porter teamed with outstanding guard Bobby Hatchett to help the Braves earn back-to-back Class 1 state basketball titles, the 14th in school history.

    Bubba as Porter is known was outstanding in the title game scoring 29 points and grabbing 35 rebounds (yes 35) in the championship game victory over Pilot Grove.


    More major college coaches have been showing interest in Porter thus far even though he is still in his junior year according to SCC head coach Kenyon Wright.

    "Vanderbilt has been down here three or four times to see him and Ole Miss says they really like him a lot. Missouri is also taking a look at him along with Missouri State and Southern Illinois", Wright commented to HawkeyeReport.com

    2. Ricky Kreklow, Rock Bridge (Columbia) High School

    Future Missouri Tiger Ricky Kreklow checks in at No. 2 in the MOsports.com Super 50. A 6-foot-5 inch, 185-pound shooting guard, Kreklow recently completed an outstanding career in Columbia at Rock Bridge High School.

    A two-time all-state selection, Kreklow helped the Bruins advance to the Show-Me Showdown as a junior, finishing second.

    Upon his commitment to the University of Missouri, where his parents serve as the very successful co-head coaches of the women's' volleyball program, head coach Mike Anderson was excited about the Tiger's addition of the talented shooting guard.

    "We have had a chance to be around Ricky and his family for the past four years and as many Tiger fans know, he is a terrific young man and a very talented basketball player," Anderson said. "He's really a basketball-savvy guy.

    1. Bradley Beal, Chaminade (St. Louis) High School

    A season ago Bradley Beal climbed to No. 1 in the Super50 standings leading the Red Devils to the Class 5 championship in his sophomore season. Beal averaged 23.5 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 3.2 assists per game earning numerous honors including all-state selection by the MBCA and the Missouri sportswriters.


    Beal spent his off-season playing a leading role with the St. Louis Eagles, then playing on the USA Men's Developmental National Team in the FIBA America's U16 Championship in Argentina.

    If this list was compiled after the season I wonder where McLemore would have finished.

    Zack Kleine from Mt Vernon had another very good year. If it was my list Zack would have been worthy of consideration at the upper end of the list.
